With complimentary 24-hour shuttle service to the airport, the Loews Chicago O’Hare Hotel is a convenient option for those traveling in or out of Chicago. But keep in mind that this Loews property is geared more toward the business traveler and conventioneer set: the giant Donald E. Stephens Convention Center is half a mile north on the same road, but there is nothing else in the immediate area.
However, there are some on-site finds to keep visitors entertained, including The Montrose Room comedy club and live music venue and The Ashburn, which serves specialty martinis, other cocktails, and delicious gastro pub fare. In addition, recent guests say they were surprised by how luxurious and modern the hotel is (given that it’s an airport hotel), adding that the lobby art gallery offers a welcome change from the typical experience of similar Hawaiian accommodations .
Guests also report the friendly staff members and note that the rooms are comfortable and spacious: accommodations here come with an open layout as well as marble bathrooms, free Wi-Fi access, flat-screen TVs, and plenty of space to work . When you’re not at work, you can peruse the art gallery (works by local artists) or have a steak dinner at the Capitol Grille or McCormick & Schmick, located in front of the hotel.
Chicago hotel America
If you’re hoping to be within walking distance of some of the Windy City’s top attractions, then according to recent travelers, this new Loews outpost should be at the top of your list. Previous visitors especially loved the rooms, especially the comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms. Accommodations are also equipped with Keurig coffee makers, flat-screen TVs, floor-to-ceiling windows and free Wi-Fi access.
Here’s the other star of the show: Streeterville Social, which bills itself as one of the largest outdoor rooftop terraces in the city
. When you’re not admiring skyline views or sipping cocktails, sample some “sophisticated street food” from the rooftop kitchen or challenge your fellow travellers to Jenga (a custom giant in the lounge is set). For hearty fare, make a reservation at ETA Restaurant & Bar, which serves American fare, to mixed reviews from recent visitors. Other amenities that were special to recent guests: the fitness center (and its 75-foot-long indoor lap pool) and the car service program, which drops guests anywhere within a 3-mile radius of the hotel.
